The assignment
A customer in the food industry asked us to make an alternative for a worn-out gripper. The gripper had to be built into an existing installation that moved a butter package every second via a notch system.
The requirement was to create a custom part which was lighter in structure and 1-to-1 interchangeable on the current machine.
Our solution
For this assignment, we used a specific aluminium alloy, which is known for its high tensile strength. This was necessary because of the dynamics of the system. We also adapted the sliding sleeves, so that a long-lasting effect is guaranteed.
